Job Description:

 

Raíces Brewing Company is looking to hire a full-time Taproom Manager (TM) night shift to support Raíces’ vision, values and culture, while providing a safe, proactive and positive environment among Raíces Team and space. The Taproom Manager is responsible for managing daily taproom operations at the Brewery, including beer and service processes, SOPs, equipment oversight, effective development and performance of team members. In addition, the TM oversees inventory, supplies, and optimize sales and profits. TM ensures guest satisfaction is delivered by management and team members providing genuine-respectful hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.


The TM will be reporting directly to the CEO and is supervised by co-owners at Raíces Brewing Co. The TM works in tandem with the CEO and ownership team to perpetuate an ethical, positive and proactive work culture. This position is very demanding with an expected work load between 40-55 hours per week. Schedules are subject to change depending on programming requirements. Main hours will be during afternoons, evenings, and weekends, although staff and community meetings can happen during daytime hours.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Taproom Manager will coordinate, direct and manage day-to-day taproom operations, and enforces policies.

  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule especially during afternoons, evenings and weekends.

  • Act as an ambassador for visiting brewers, wholesale partners, retailers and others.

  • Serve and talk about Raíces and its products in a fashion that communicates the brewery’s passion for quality, knowledge, and customer service at all times.

  • Analyze taproom performance and provide measurements and implementation to ensure continued growth.

  • Embrace leading a solid team to being a better team, training and developing them to excel in their roles and continuously improve; motivate crew members to exceed expectations of the guests; passionately uphold and elevate a positive work environment for guests and visitors.

  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships within the organization, community-at-large, community groups, institutions, other organizations, community leaders and individuals. The position is actively involved in the local community and builds strong relationships with local officials, businesses, community leaders, and guests.

  • Possess outstanding customer care and attention to detail.

  • Have a strong understanding of the role of events in building a brand, fostering community and supporting marketing strategies.

  • Ensure that the company's, guests’, and venue's policies and procedures are being respected and followed.

  • Supports, represents and communicates company goals, culture, values and initiative.

  • Promotes company programs.

  • Ensure the portfolio operations are functioning within the financial parameters established in the budget.

  • Help hire and train qualified crew members, assemble skilled and cohesive teams, manage individual and team performance and schedules, provide developmental opportunities, promote teamwork and cooperation, evaluate and supervise team members.

  • Handle tours and communication of groups visiting the taproom.

  • Encourage ownership, accountability, integrity, value and honor within Raíces crew members.

  • Manages and assists with taproom maintenance, service, and inventory, including apparel and items for sale.

  • Help schedule, coordinate host and oversee vendors, while maintaining a positive work environment and a vision of excellence. Selection of vendors driven by brewery programming are discussed with VP Development and Program Manager.

  • Partner with the VP Developing, Program Manager and the Creative to plan, execute and market events in the taproom.

  • Accept deliveries of kegs and packaged beer from Packaging Department and wholesale partners.

  • Update Beer menus to reflect current draft and package.

  • Assist beer servers with ensuring timely service.

  • Update POS terminals via POS software.

  • Possess the flexibility to adapt to fast-paced work style with changing deadlines, to balance multiple projects, and to work well under pressure.

  • Have a demonstrable ability to make good judgement calls, and a track record of operating with integrity.

  • Possess excellent work ethics, guest service, time management, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills and experience.

  • Helps in the recruitment, management and basic training of Raíces Seeds Internship program and Nation Volunteer program.

  • Have math and algebra knowledge.

  • Have effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

  • Maintain taproom point-of-sale system, including back end updates and tablet upkeep.

  • Ensure tracking and reporting procedures are in place and being followed.

  • Complete bi-monthly payroll.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. Assist Raíces team as needed with special events (weddings, festivals, and more).

  • Attend required training sessions critical to your position.

  • Able to learn and effectively communicate with the public about our products (beer, beverages, food offerings, apparel, programming and Latin culture).

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ yr. Service and hospitality experience.

  • 4+ yr. Management experience.

  • Experience on Point of Sales Systems (POS), inventory management systems, credit card and cash handling procedures.

  • Must be 21 + years of age.

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree.

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).

  • Bicultural or multicultural skills.

  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, Internet.

  • Social Media basic knowledge (FB, Instagram, Twitter, etc).

  • Smartphones basic knowledge.

  • Able to speak in public.

  • Reliable transportation.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Brewery Management experience.

  • Taproom Manager experience.

  • Prior positions in community involvement and engagement, public relations, outreach, communication, individual rapport, education.

  • Understanding of basic AV equipment.

  • Basic knowledge about craft beer or willing to learn.

  • TIPs Certified.

  • Maintain and troubleshooting all aspects of multiple draught beer dispensing systems.

  • Know online Music Platforms knowledge (Pandora, Spotify).

  • Ability to take photographs, video and post to social media channels while on-site.

  • Driver’s license.

Raíces Brewing Company is looking to hire part-time Beer Servers to support Raíces’ vision, values and culture, while providing a proactive and positive attitude with Raíces team and guests.

 

Beer servers are responsible for providing genuine-respectful hospitality and exceeding guest expectations, exceling community engagement, in addition to provide education about craft beer and beer styles to visitors.


Beer servers will be reporting directly to the Taproom Manager. This position is a part time with an expected work load between 15-35 hours per week. Schedules are subject to change depending on programming and scheduling requirements. Main hours will be after 10 a.m., afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Excellent Guest Services, Maintain Areas Clean, Team work (having each other’s back), Maintain Inventory, clean glassware, fold and reload apparel and shop, use POS Arryved, TIPS Certified.

  • Assists with taproom maintenance, service, and inventory, including apparel and items for sale.

  • Stay updated on current menu choices, features and menu deviations.

  • Keep bar organized, clean and all items dated and rotated properly.

  • Know bar is running out of any items, restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.

  • Work as a team by maintaining a proper taproom experience and ensuring items are delivered timely, customer needs are fulfilled, stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.

  • Possess outstanding customer care and attention to detail.

  • Have extensive product knowledge regarding Raíces Brewing Co. Beers and craft beer in general.

  • Have the knowledge to effectively and efficiently perform the duties of busser, expo and host.

  • Ensure that all menu items are being ran in through Arryved POS system.

  • Completing daily side work and checking out with the Taproom Manager before leaving at the end of shift.

  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar, servers and taproom guests.

  • Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.

  • Assess customers’ needs, preferences and make recommendations.

  • Pour beer to company and legal guidelines.

  • Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.

  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations.

  • Keep track of all employee drinks and meals throughout the shift and ensure that they are rang in correctly.

  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule especially during afternoons, evenings and weekends.
