CAREERS - BILINGUAL SERVERS

Raíces Brewing Company is looking to hire part-time Bilingual (Spanish-English) Servers to support Raíces’ vision, values and culture, while providing a proactive and positive attitude with Raíces team and guests.

 

Servers are responsible for providing genuine-respectful hospitality and exceeding guest expectations, exceling community engagement, in addition to providing education about craft beer and beer styles to visitors.


Servers will be reporting directly to the Taproom Manager or supervisor assigned. This position is a part time job with an expected workload between 15-32 hours per week. Schedules are subject to change depending on programming and scheduling requirements. Main hours will be after 7 a.m., afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Excellent Guest Services. 

  • Maintain a proper taproom experience and ensuring items are delivered timely, 

customer needs are fulfilled, stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest 

experience.

  • Right use of POS (Arryved or any other platform used at the time).

  • TIPS Certified is a requirement. We provide information on how to get the certification online.

  • Serve beverages correctly and follow the guidelines. Beverages includes: alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, beers, cocktails, spirits, and more.

  • Serve food and items related to food appropriately, making sure the quality and the serving of food is proper. Cleanliness of the areas we serve food and how we serve them is essential. Follow guidelines.   

  • Maintain All Areas Clean (including Front of the House, Patios, Back of the House, Fridge, Employee area, Bathrooms, Building Surrounding areas, Picnic area, Parking area, and any other area assigned). Occasional cleaning of windows, garage doors, doors, among other items are required (Raíces Maintenance).

  • Team work (having each other’s back). 

  • Open Communication among the team, supervisors and all administrators is expected.

  • Maintain and assist on Occasional Inventory (e.g. apparel, Items for sale, and glassware), and add item numbers to POS.

  • Clean all glassware and equipment related to food and beverages. 

  • Fold and reload towels, and any item needed at the bar. 

  • Fold and reload apparel and shop.  

  • Stay updated on current menu choices, features and menu deviations.

  • Learn all products available to provide the right information to our visitors and colleagues.

  • Keep the bar organized, clean and all items dated and rotated properly.

  • Know and communicate when bar is running out of any items, restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.

  • Possess outstanding customer care and attention to detail.

  • Have extensive product knowledge regarding Raíces Brewing Co. Beers and craft beer in general.

  • Have the knowledge to effectively and efficiently perform the duties of busser, expo and host.

  • Ensure that ALL menu items are being run in through the Arryved POS system.

  • Completing daily side work and checking out with the Taproom Manager, supervisor or Lead Server before leaving at the end of shift.

  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar, servers and taproom guests.

  • Interact with customers in a friendly, effective and helpful way.

  • Proper Time Management is vital.

  • Assess customers’ needs, preferences and make recommendations. Able to learn and effectively communicate with the public about our products (beer, beverages, food offerings, apparel, programming and Latin culture).

  • Pour beer to company and legal guidelines.

  • Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.

  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations.

  • Keep track of all employee drinks and meals throughout the shift and ensure that they are rang in correctly.

  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule especially during afternoons, evenings and weekends.

  • Serve and talk about Raíces and its products in a fashion that communicates the brewery’s passion for quality, knowledge, and customer service at all times.

  • Supports, represents and communicates company goals, culture, values and initiative.

  • Possess the flexibility to adapt to fast-paced work style with changing deadlines, to balance multiple projects, and to work well under pressure.

  • Assist in the implementation and executions of programs at Raíces.

  • Helps in the recruitment of Raíces Nación | Nation Volunteer program.

  • Have math and algebra knowledge.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

  • Assist Raíces team as needed with special events (weddings, festivals, programming and more).

  • Attend required training sessions critical to the position.

  • Observe dynamics in the taproom, avoid or deescalate potential incidents, and communicate with the team to create awareness and support.

  • Report and communicate any situation happening in the taproom with visitors, colleagues, or supervisor, or related to maintenance as soon as you are aware via Raíces chat and via email to admin email.

  • Keep back of the house articles organized. Communicate/Report any missing or   needed items.

  • Manage appropriate Latin music in the Taproom or music assigned for that day depending on programming. Inappropriate music for families and kids is not permitted. 

  • Receive deliveries and notify supervisors with specifics (eg. product, # of boxes or items, etc ).

  • Responsible for occasional inventory of products, supplies.

  • Responsible for Raices store merchandise stocking, upkeep and good presentation.

  • Responsible for upkeep of natural plants and cleanliness and presentation of synthetic plants, while reporting any damages.

  • All servers are responsible for reporting any incidents and damages related to visitors, team members or the facility in their shifts. This includes suspicious behaviors within our facilities and its immediate surroundings. Reports should be made by email and chat. In case of emergencies, get a hold of your immediate supervisor. 

  • Responsible for learning cocktails preparations and proper serving.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 + years of age.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).

  • Bartender experience. 

  • Knowledge using POS systems

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Smartphones basic knowledge.

  • Able to speak in public.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • TIPS Certified.

  • Able to lift 55-70 pounds.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience on Point of Sales Systems (POS), inventory management systems, 

credit card and cash handling procedures.

  • Have effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. 

  • Basic knowledge about craft beer or willing to learn. 

  • Bicultural or multicultural skills.

  • Know online Music Platforms knowledge (Pandora, Spotify).

Pay:

$17.29 minimum pay per hour

$14.27 base pay + pool tips. (tips are divided for the front of the house team and are adjudicated by the amount of  hours worked).
